A recent signing by Don Sweeney has taken a surprising turn as a major milestone is set to be hit by this newly acquired forward during the upcoming 2025/26 NHL season.

The Boston Bruins brought back their former forward, Sean Kuraly, this offseason, on July 1 during NHL free agency, on a two-year contract with an average annual value (AAV) of $1.85M.

This 32-year old spent his first four NHL seasons with the Boston Bruins organization, from 2016-2021, where he then made his way into the Columbus Blue Jackets' roster.

However, his previous contract with the Blue Jackets expired this offseason, which ultimately left the Bruins to steal him off of the free agency market.

Now, Kuraly will once again be a key part of the Bruins organization's bottom six and penalty kill, where he is known for taking a more defensive approach.

That said, Kuraly is also nearing a new milestone involving his offense.

Boston Bruins' newly acquired forward, Sean Kuraly, anticipated to reach 100th assist of his NHL career this upcoming season

Kuraly is expected to reach his 100th assists of his NHL career during next season, as he is shy of just 11 assists.

Coincidentally, this is the exact number of assists this forward recorded within his previous season with the Columbus Blue Jackets, within 82 games.

With that, the possibility of him reaching this milestone during the 2025/26 NHL season is certainly achievable.
