A new statement has surfaced regarding the Boston Bruins potentially acquiring Edmonton Oilers' superstar, Connor McDavid.

While the Boston Bruins currently seem like an underwhelming team to choose to land at the moment, two years ago this organization was on fire, and it can undoubtedly happen again.

Two years ago, the Boston Bruins came off a record-setting 65-win season, which can evidently be appealing for a skilled player seeking a new beginning.

But the Bruins, undoubtedly, do not scream contenders.

At this time, the organization finished their 2024/25 NHL season in the National Hockey League's fifth-worst team, with projections of them being ranked the seventh-worst this upcoming season.

The team is rebuilding, and focusing on their young prospects, such as Fraser Minten, Will Zellers, and draft pick, James Hagens, who was the organization's No. 7 overall pick during the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.

That being said, the Boston Bruins' current standpoint definitely does not align with Edmonton Oilers' top forwards, Connor McDavid, and his current goals.

McDavid's urgency for a Cup, after two consecutive Stanley Cup losses with Edmonton, will almost certainly not be achieved in the Big B at this time.

At 28-years old, McDavid is driven for immediate success, and with the Bruins' current trajectory, requiring time for prospects to develop, the likelihood to see him in Boston is unfortunately slim to none.

Do you think the Boston Bruins will make the playoffs for the upcoming 2025/26 NHL season?

At this time, it does not seem very likely, but Boston Bruins fans are extremely hopeful.
