Some recent injury news may force the Boston Bruins to once again make another roster transaction, and there are two players that have a chance to be recalled.

Last night in their game against the New York Islanders, Matej Blumel ended up suffering an injury early on into the game.

The Bruins ended up announcing that he left with a lower-body injury and was not going to return.

UPDATE: Matej Blumel (lower-body) will not return to tonight's game.

Following the game, Sturm stated that Blumel is going to miss time with his lower-body injury.

Sturm: Blumel will be out for “a bit” with his lower-body injury.

With the Bruins being down another forward, it may force them to recall a forward from the AHL, and there are two candidates that stand out right now.

Lysell or Merkulov to be the next player called up?

Bruins reporter Scott McLaughlin believes that either Lysell or Merkulov could be one of the next players recalled to the Boston Bruins.

One of these two could be next in line if the Blumel experiment is over.

Last night, Fabian Lysell returned to the Providence Bruins lineup after being out with an injury and had an impressive game.

Lysell ended up scoring a beautiful goal for his 8th goal of the year and it tied him for the team lead.

There is a good chance that he gets another shot in the NHL with the Bruins due to the recent injury news.
