An NHL insider just confirmed former Stanley Cup Champion and 40+ goal scorers fate with the Boston Bruins.
The Boston Bruins were previously linked to former 40+ goal score and Stanley Cup Champion Jonathan Marchessault, and an NHL insider just confirmed his fate with the organization.
According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman Jonathan Marchessault is open to a trade this off-season, and his perfered destinations were just revealed.
The Nashville Predators had a similar 2024-25 season to the Boston Bruins, where things did not go as they planned. They made some big signings in hopes to get to the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but like the Bruins they both finished at the bottom of the league.
The Predators acquired Marchessault for free through a signing in free agency, and are now looking to get some assets back for him.
Marchessault's fate with the Bruins
Elliotte Friedman stated that Marchessault is only interested in joining six teams during the off-season. What are the teams he's interested in? Any team that has no state tax including the Tampa Bay Lightning, Florida Panthers, Seattle Kraken, Dallas Stars, and the Vegas Golden Knights.
Many believe that the NHL has a problem with teams that have no state tax, as it's a complete advantage over other teams.
It's a big attraction for big named players, as they don't have to pay any taxes.
With that being said, the Boston Bruins will not be a team that Marchessault is willing to play for or accept a trade to in the off-season.
Do you think the Boston Bruins are going to target some big named players in the off-season?
