A surprising announcement was just made involving the Boston Bruins, and the NHL is taking notice.

Many believed that the Boston Bruins were going to be a subpar team once again this year, but that's not the case at all.

ESPN recently released their NHL Power Rankings for the 2025-26 season, and the Boston Bruins were a top team.

Bruins ranked 10th on ESPN's Power Rankings

Entering the season, the Bruins were ranked number 22 on the list, but have made a huge jump after having an impressive start under new head coach Marco Sturm.

Among Eastern Conference teams, the Boston Bruins sit 6th, only behind the Carolina Hurricanes (No. 1), back-to-back Stanley Cup champions Florida Panthers (No. 5), Washington Capitals (No. 7), Montreal Canadiens (No. 8), and the Detroit Red Wings (No. 9).

Out of the eight Atlantic Division teams, the Boston Bruins currently sit fourth, only behind the Panthers, Canadiens, and Red Wings.

David Pastrnak and the Boston Bruins had the second-highest jump in the rankings, only behind the Seattle Kraken.

The Kraken ended up going from 29th to 14th, but the Bruins had the highest jump in all the Eastern Conference teams.

Boston got off to a solid start to this new season, winning their first three games, but dropped back-to-back games to the Tampa Bay Lightning, and Vegas Golden Knights.

Tonight, the Bruins are looking to snap their two game losing streak against the Colorado Avalanche, and look to improve to 4-2-0.
