After drafting James Hagens 7th overall during the 2025 NHL Entry Level Draft, a new rumor has just surfaced involving him.

Leading up to the NHL draft, it wasn't clear what the Boston Bruins were going to do with their 7th overall pick.

There was a lot of discussions that they were going to trade it, and Don Sweeney confirmed that whenever he said that the Bruins would move on from the 7th overall pick for the right price.

GM Sweeney at today's "Sturm" presser made clear he has not ruled out a trade around No. 7 draft pick later this month.

Don Sweeney was asking for a roster player that would bring an immediate impact into the Boston Bruins lineup, but he never got presented an offer that made him say yes.

Or at least we haven't heard it. Sweeney did say that once James Hagens ended up falling down to 7th overall, he was not going to trade it no matter what.
