With the Toronto Maple Leafs being eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs, there has been a lot of speculation where Mitch Marner is going to land. Just recently an unexpected announcement was made regarding him and the Boston Bruins.
If Marner does hit the free agent market this off-season, it's easily going to be one of the biggest stories, and now his top landing spots have officially been revealed as he is more than likely leaving the Maple Leafs.
The Toronto Maple Leafs had another disappointing year in the Playoffs, and because of it Mitch Marner is likely to leave the team in free agency. This isn't the only reason, but after the Leafs approached him and asked him to waive his no trade clause during the NHL trade deadline, it's hard to see him wanting to re-sign there.
Marner has already knocked six teams off of his free agency list this summer, as a report stated that he wants to leave the Canadian market.
Unexpected Announcement Regarding Marner And The Bruins
Sportsnet's Ryan Dixon has revealed the top candidates to acquire Marner, and he believes that he is going to head out to the West Coast.
The top four teams on Dixon's list are the Los Angeles Kings, Utah Mammoth, Anaheim Ducks, and Vegas Golden Knights. There are still two Eastern Conference teams in the New York Rangers and Pittsburgh Penguins.
This comes as a surprise as there have been multiple rumours linking the Boston Bruins to Mitch Marner.
At this moment everything is just speculation, and the Bruins may still have a chance to landing Mitch Marner, but it will be interesting to see how everything works out in free agency.
Do you think the Boston Bruins are going to be a top team in on Mitch Marner if he hits the free agent market?
