A new statement by Boston Bruins head coach Marco Sturm has surfaced the media, where he sent a messaged to prospects following game 1.
It is evident that while the Boston Bruins pursued their ongoing rebuild this offseason, a lot of their added talent consisted of younger players, including the addition of multiple prospects.
However, during the Boston Bruins' first preseason game, the organization stacked their roster with NHL level players.
Take a look at the roster:
“Forwards: Morgan Geekie - Elias Lindholm - Viktor Arvidsson Matej Blumel - Matthew Poitras - Alex Steeves Tanner Jeannot - Fraser Minten - Fabian Lysell Jeffrey Viel - Patrick Brown - Riley Duran Defense: Mason Lohrei - Charlie McAvoy Frederic Brunet - Andrew Peeke Nikita Zadorov - Victor Sodertstrom EXTRA: Billy Sweezey Goalies: Michael DiPietro Simon Zajicek”
This ultimately led many to be confused, as the Boston Bruins, who are filled with prospect talent, seemingly left them out of the running for the organization's first game.
Luckily enough, Boston Bruins head coach, Marco Sturm, cleared the air with these young talents.
Boston Bruins' head coach Marco Sturm sends a clear message to prospects within the organization
In a recent post on social media, via “X”, reporter, Belle Fraser, announced that Sturm made a statement regarding the Boston Bruins' lineup for game one.
Marco Sturm on tonight's lineup:
"Usually I don't go that heavy on veterans on day one, but it just turned out that way because we're at home. And maybe I want the guys to get used to, right away, the stuff we worked on. Especially all the veterans."
It is noted in this post that Sturm wanted to emphasize on the idea that these young talents will get the opportunity to prove themselves in the near future, and that the Bruins' game 1 was mostly fixated on the idea that he intends to get the veterans used to what the organization had been working on over the offseason.
Do you think the Boston Bruins stacking their game 1 with all veterans was the right move to make?
