The Boston Bruins have made an official goaltending move ahead of their game against the New York Islanders, and it's a bit surprising.
Marco Sturm already confirmed the Bruins are making some lineup changes to the offense, but it seems like the goaltending is going to stay the same for the third straight game.
According to Sturm, the Bruins are rolling with the same goaltender tonight as they have for the past two games.
Sturm confirms Swayman as the starting goaltender
Following practice this morning, Sturm confirmed that Swayman is going to be the starting goaltender for the Bruins.
Updates from Sturm:
Blumel will be back in the lineup tonight, starting with Zacha and Pastrnak.
Swayman in net.
This is a bit surprising considering Swayman has appeared in the Bruins' last 3 out of 4 games and has a record of 1-2-0 on the current road trip. Now, it hasn't entirely been his fault, as the Bruins have had a rough time finding the back of the net.
But it is a bit surprising considering Korpisalo ended up calling out the Bruins over his playing time, and once again this year he is kind of getting sheltered starts despite playing really well for the Bruins.
According to Jack Studley, this is the goaltending matchup tonight between the Bruins and Islanders.
