Preseason has officially begun for the Boston Bruins, as they appeared in their first game against the Washington Capitals on Sunday night, and now there is one player that is being listed as a underdog to make the Bruins roster out of camp.
Bruins fans have the perfect opportunity to watch some of the teams top prospects in game action, mixed in with some NHL talent.
Looking at the Bruins training camp roster, there is one player that stands out for the organization, in Frederic Brunet.
Brunet an underdog to make the Bruins roster
Brunet ended up appearing in the Boston Bruins first preseason game last night against the Washington Capitals.
For the preseason opener.
The game did not go how the Bruins expected, and it looked like the same struggles from last year have carried over this year, but there was one player who stood out.
Brunet had a bunch of solid moments for the Bruins, and has certified himself as a player to watch going forward.
Last season helped Brunet out a lot, as he had a solid season with the Providence Bruins in the American Hockey League.
In 69 games, Brunet set new career highs with five goals, 20 assists, 25 points, and a plus-15 rating as a defenseman.
In their final game of the season last year, the Bruins rewarded him for his strong play by calling him up to make his NHL debut against the New Jersey Devils.
The former fifth-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft has shown a lot of promise, and development, and is now on the Bruins radar.
Going forward, this is definitely going to be a player to watch for Bruins fans, as he could make a legit run to make the roster out of camp.
Do you think Frederic Brunet has a good chance at making the Boston Bruins roster out of camp?
