According to a Bruins insider, the Bruins are now at risk of losing a defenseman on the waiver wire.

Recently the Boston Bruins already lost a player on waivers after placing Johnny Beecher on the waiver wire.

The Calgary Flames ended up claiming Beecher off waivers, acquiring the former first-round pick for free.

Now there is a chance that another player could be claimed.

Aspirot to require waivers now

Because of the injuries the Bruins have been dealing with this season, they have had to rely on some players from the Providence Bruins.

Right now, the Bruins currently have three forwards and two defensemen out with injuries.

The forwards include Elias Lindholm, Casey Mittelstadt, and Viktor Arvidsson. The defense includes Charlie McAvoy and Jordan Harris.

Both McAvoy and Harris are going to be out long-term, as they both underwent surgery recently.

Because both of them are out, the Bruins ended up recalling Michael Callahan once again and Jonathan Aspirot.

Callahan has been the Bruins' extra defenseman so far, whereas Aspirot has been playing.

Last night, Aspirot ended up appearing in his 10th NHL game, meaning that he will need to pass through waivers now to be reassigned back to Providence.

With the injuries to McAvoy and Harris, it seems like he is going to be around for a while, but whenever the Bruins do send him back later on, there is a chance that he gets claimed off waivers.

With Jonathan Aspirot playing his 10th game tonight, worth noting that he would now need to clear waivers again to go back to Providence. I didn't see him going anywhere any time soon anyways.
