Entering the 2025-26 season, it's unclear what the Boston Bruins are going to be doing with top prospect James Hagens, but we may have an answer now.
Recently James Hagens ended up talking with NHL.com's Mike G. Morreale, and may have spoke on what he will be doing come next season.
James Hagens speaks on his future
The Boston Bruins might have to wait a bit longer to see their top prospect in the NHL after drafting him 7th overall at the 2025 NHL Entry Level Draft.
“I want to be able to win a Beanpot, be able to win a national championship,” Hagens told NHL.com. “Everyone has their roles, but our team goal is winning. That's what we want to do. We fell short last year, but it's hopefully going to happen this year.”
Leading up to the draft, Hagens played on a dominant Eagles team playing with current NHL player Ryan Leonard and Gabe Perreault.
Hagens will be without Leonard and Perreault heading into his sophomore season, but is going to be a huge part of BC's offense.
He ended up being tied for third on the team last season with 11 goals, 26 assists and 37 points.
“The things he does well, he'll be able to carry and translate for BC but also right into the NHL,” BC head coach Greg Brown said. ” Like any young player going to the NHL, you have to bring your floor up, and that means getting bigger, stronger and faster. But then it's about the details you need to play with to be successful, and again, that just takes time. He has a great hockey brain. He reads things quickly and clearly, so I think just the evolution of his game will be more of that this year.”
Even though he more then likely won't be playing with the Boston Bruins at TD Garden but he will just be down the road if fans wanted to watch him.
Do you think James Hagens should return to BC next year?
