Elliotte Friedman recently revealed that the Vancouver Canucks may be open to shopping some veteran players.
Along with that, he just announced that a trade could be imminent, and if the Bruins have the right return, they could complete a trade with the Canucks.
Just the other day, Elliotte Friedman stated that the Canucks are listening to offers on some of their veteran players but stated that Quinn Hughes and Filip Hronek are both off-limits.
There is one player that the Bruins were linked to off of the Canucks, though, and Friedman has revealed some new details regarding it.
Trade involving Sherwood could be imminent
A player that could make a big impact for the Boston Bruins is 30-year-old forward Kiefer Sherwood.
Following this year, Sherwood is going to be an unrestricted free agent, meaning he could be a rental for the Bruins, but if they can work out an extension, it would change things for the Bruins.
Sherwood has been an impactful player for the Canucks this season, as not only has he killed penalties, but he is also on their power play. Along with that, he has been contributing offensively, scoring 12 goals and 14 assists for 16 points in 23 games this season.
This is someone that could be a game changer for the Bruins, and now Elliotte Friedman has revealed some new details on the situation.
Friedman stated that the Canucks would be willing to let go of Sherwood quickly if they can get the return they want for him.
Elliotte Friedman: Re Kiefer Sherwood rumours: I've had people say to me today that they think that if Vancouver gets what they want for him...they could do it quick - Canucks Central (11/25)
If the Bruins can offer a good enough package for him, they could get an impactful player to help them boost their offense, as they have had a tough time scoring goals once again this season.
Do you think the Boston Bruins should put together a decent package for Canucks' Kiefer Sherwood?
