There is a chance that the injury Milan Lucic just suffered could lead to him having his contract terminated by the St. Louis Blues.

This off-season, Lucic surprisingly made a return to the NHL after signing a PTO with the St. Louis Blues, but things aren't looking too good for him right now.

The Blues have signed Milan Lucic on a PTO. His last played NHL game was on October 21,2023.

No one saw Lucic's return coming, and little did everyone expect him to go to the Blues.

There were talks about a return last season, but nothing ended up coming out of it.

According to former Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery, Lucic is facing an injury that could lead to him being let go from his contract.

Lucic may get let go from his contract

It was announced that Lucic had suffered an injury to his groin, but is being listed as day-to-day.

Lucic (groin) did not practice today.

Monty: "He's day-to-day. He's walking around fine. It's just a matter of being able to push out there. It's unfortunate timing for him and us for the evaluation process to see if he can make the club. (1/2)

If Lucic does not appear in games during camp, he will more then likely be let go from his contract.

If he really is day-to-day, Montgomery stated he will get in games next week:

Monty cont'd: "If he's really day-to-day, and he's back to play next week, he'll get into games and we'll see if he can make the team." (2/2) #stlblues
