David Pastrnak scored the shootout winner tonight as the Bruins beat the Golden Knights 3-2 at TD Garden.

It was the second straight game Boston needed extra time. Saturday's 5-4 overtime win over Chicago was the first, and this one came with a lot more chaos in between.

Ty Anderson didn't hold back on how Pastrnak finished it.

Pastrnak was quiet for most of the night, as Sin Bin Vegas pointed out, and then he settled it when it mattered. Before tonight, Boston was 10-4-1 with 21 points and first in the Atlantic.

James Hagens opened the scoring for the Bruins with his 6th goal of the season. The 19-year-old, picked 7th overall in 2025, keeps finding the net.

The night turned when Charlie McAvoy's hit on Trevor Connelly sparked a mess in the first period. Later, Braeden Bowman took a major for elbowing Matthew Poitras, and Boston cashed in.

Morgan Geekie scored on that power play, which gave the Bruins a two-goal cushion. Mark Stone got one back for Vegas on the power play.

How Vegas fought back to force the shootout

Sin Bin Vegas noted that the Golden Knights earned the point after falling behind by two with four minutes of major penalty still to kill.

Connelly then tied it 2-2 with 12:37 left in the third, banking the puck in off Jeremy Swayman. That sent the game to overtime and then the shootout.

Gino Hard summed up the finish in one line, and Pastrnak was the name on it.

There was a milestone attached too. SportsnetStats reported that Pastrnak reached 300 career power-play points, making him the third Czech player to get there.

Jaromir Jagr sits at 610 and Patrik Elias at 333, so Pastrnak is chasing Elias for second on that list.

Boston gets a short turnaround now. The Bruins are at Pittsburgh on Thursday, Nov. 5.
