A new update has surfaced the media regarding former Boston Bruins captain, Brad Marchand, and his recent leave of absence.

A few days ago, it was revealed that Brad Marchand had taken a leave of absence from his organization, the Florida Panthers, due to an unfortunate passing in his life.

Later, it was unveiled that Marchand would be coaching in Nova Scotia as he will be covering for coach JP MacCallum following the loss of his daughter.

Here is the statement:

“On behalf of The Nova Scotia U18 Major Hockey League, we extend our deepest condolences to Coach JP MacCallum and his family on the tragic loss of his daughter, Selah.

In an incredible show of support and friendship, Brad Marchand and Andrew Bodnarchuk will step behind the bench to coach the Marchand & Mill Co. Hunters this Wednesday as they face the Halifax Macs, allowing JP to remain at home with his family during this difficult time.

This gesture reflects the true spirit of the hockey community in Nova Scotia, one built on compassion, loyalty, and connection that extends far beyond the rink.

Our thoughts are with JP, his loved ones, and the entire Hunters organization.
