Injuries were once again a problem for the Bruins as they closed out their three-game road trip in Minnesota.

Boston wrapped up their three-game road swing Sunday night against the Minnesota Wild, but had to do it without two key players.

Defenseman Jonathan Aspirot and forward Viktor Arvidsson both exited the Bruins' previous game against the Jets.

Aspirot with an upper body injury and Arvidsson with a lower body issue.

Ahead of Sunday's matchup, Bruins head coach Marco Sturm confirmed that both players are expected to remain out of the lineup.

“Both most likely will be out tomorrow,” Sturm said Saturday. “We just have to wait until we get back to Boston to see how long. I don't think it's going to be too long; we'll see.”

Neither Aspirot nor Arvidsson practiced Saturday, a strong indicator that their availability for Sunday was unlikely.

Boston also had a brief concern with Pavel Zacha, who did not skate Saturday, but Sturm clarified that the absence was precautionary rather than injury related.

“Should be ready for tomorrow,” Sturm said, calling it a maintenance day for Zacha.

The Bruins entered the game 2-0 on the trip and with a chance to sweep, but the task will not be simple, especially given recent developments in Minnesota.

The Wild grabbed headlines Friday by completing a blockbuster trade to acquire Quinn Hughes, instantly raising the energy level around Sunday's game.

“We still have a job to do,” Sturm said. “I think that's one of those standards and culture, we want to stay with it. It's been around for a long time. Even if you win a few games, things shouldn't change.”

Sturm also acknowledged the atmosphere Boston should expect.

“They made a pretty aggressive trade last night, so we just have to make sure we're going to be ready to go tomorrow, because that building will be buzzing.”

Bruins lose final road game following injury news

Unfortunately the game did not go how the Boston Bruins planned. Boston ended up losing their final road game against the Wild 6-2 but now will return home before the upcoming Christmas break.
