Earlier in the season, a NHL player requested a trade from the Columbus Blue Jackets, and the Boston Bruins were immediately a team linked to him, now some new details have been released on the possibility of a trade.

Training camp is right around the corner for every NHL team, and earlier in the season Blue Jackets forward Yegor Chinakhov's agent publicly requested a trade from the organization.

Some new details have just surfaced on his situation with the Columbus Blue Jackets as reported by an NHL insider.

A trade involving Chinakhov may not happen

According to NHL insider Aaron Portzline of The Athletic, he stated that Chinakhov has not rescinded his trade requested, but they are still open to making a trade.

"This situation, aside from some comments by Chinakhov's agent, has not reached a point of no return, and it certainly hasn't become as acrimonious as some previous trade requests, like that of Pierre-Luc Dubois and, most recently, Patrik Laine."

The Boston Bruins were a team heavily linked to him when the trade request was made public.

Don Sweeney even reportedly put in a trade offer to acquire the former first-round pick, but the Blue Jackets reportedly declined it.

Believe The Bruins made a play for Chinakhov but CBJ turned it down

The reason for the request from Chinakhov is due to the relationship between him and the head coach, as he was healthy scratched multiple times last season, and was not happy.

He had a solid start to the season, scoring 14 points in 21 games, but went on to miss three months with an injury, and his return did not go how he expected.

This is going to be a situation to monitor leading up to the beginning of the season.
