Boston Bruins' general manager, Don Sweeney, was undoubtedly busy this offseason.

During the summer, Sweeney mostly acquired bottom-six pieces for this Original Six franchise, in attempt to bolster their depth for the 2025/26 NHL season.

And one of these acquisition was the Minnesota Wild's former forward, Marat Khusnutdinov.

Khusnutdinov was traded to Boston by the Wild with Jakob Lauko and a 6th round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft in exchange for Justin Brazeau.

Since then, this forward has undergone the Boston Bruins' first four games of the 2025/26 NHL regular season, with no points and a plus/minus of -2.

Due to this, recent insight has revealed that this 23-year old will be sitting in the press box as a healthy scratch for tonight's Boston Bruins matchup against the Golden Knights.

Boston Bruins announce two player transaction

A Boston Bruins reporter has just revealed that Jeffrey Viel will be replacing Marat Khusnutdinov tonight.

Take a look:

“Marco Sturm confirms Jeffrey Viel will enter the lineup tonight for Marat Khusnutdinov. Also said Hampus Lindholm remains day to day.”

Jeffrey Veil was signed by the Boston Bruins as a free agent on July 1, 2024, where he has played just five games within the Boston's roster.

Veil was then sent down to the Boston Bruins' AHL affiliate team, the Providence Bruins, where he endured 68 games and accumulated 13 goals, 24 assists, totalling at 37 points with a plus/minus of +14.
