With the season basically right around the corner now, the Boston Bruins are making some moves, and have signed a new player to a contract.

Don Sweeney made a bunch of underwhelming moves this off-season, and he made yet another one again.

The biggest move the Bruins made this off-season was signing Tanner Jeannot to a weird contract during free agency.

Now, the Bruins organization has made yet another interesting signing.

Bruins sign former first-round pick

A recent announcement just confirmed that the Providence Bruins have signed a former first-round pick.

The Providence Bruins announced that Jacob Perreault has been signed to a one-year American Hockey League contract.

Welcome to Providence, Jacob!

We have signed Jacob Perreault to a one-year AHL contract ✍️

During this past season, Perreault spent the majority of it in the AHL, split between the Laval Rocket and Bakersfield Condors.

He appeared in 44 games where he would go on to score just three goals, 11 assists, and 14 points.

He also saw some time down in the ECHL, for the Trois-Rivieres Lions wheere he scored one goal and five points in five games.

The 23-year-old was originally drafted by the Anaheim Ducks 27th overall back in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.

Since being drafted, he has appeared in just one game in the NHL, and the chances that he plays in another one for the Bruins is not high.

This is just another very interesting signing by the Boston Bruins organization.
